Can a Heavy Breakfast and a Small Dinner lead to Weight Loss?

In your lifetime you should have come across this phrase, “Eat breakfast like a king and dinner as a pauper”. If you are serious about your weight loss then you have to take a look on the study made on obese women.

In this new study ninety three women who are obese with metabolic syndrome were given diet of 1,400 calories for twelve weeks. The contestants were grouped into two in which one group ate 700 calories at breakfast, 500 calories at lunch and at dinner 200 calories. The group that ate breakfast consisting higher calories lost more weight (18 pounds than 8 pounds) and drop more inches from the waist (3 inches than 1.4).

However eating pancakes and eggs in the breakfast doesn’t help you to lose weight. Another noteworthy feature is that the study was conducted only for 12 weeks which is not a sufficient time period. The researchers mainly focused on the women with metabolic syndrome, but what about the women who just want to lose weight? Many women are consuming 1,400 calories per day and noticing the scale go down as it is quite less as compared to what they are eating at present.

In the real world it is not easy to follow everything that is suggested in the study. Do you think so? Eating only 200 calories at dinner is not realistic and it will prevent you to be social enough. According to me it is not possible at all that by eating such a small amount of calories will help you to stay active. Sometimes you don’t feel hungry in the morning, so in such situation it is hard to take 700 calories at breakfast.

As far as my view is concerned many women like to eat healthy to stay more active throughout the day. In case you have metabolic syndrome you should be aware about the amount of carbohydrate you are taking. Your meal should not be high in carbohydrate and contain suitable protein as well as healthy fats. Don’t skip your meals and eat enough fruits, veggies and whole grains. If you are on a 1,400 calorie diet than I don’t suggest you to take 400 calorie diet and snack of 200 calories like the women in the study followed. You should always follow a diet of the princess indeed.
