Binge-eating on par with bulimia

Bulimia is an illness in which a person binges on food or has regular episodes of overeating and feels a loss of control. The person then uses different methods -- such as vomiting or abusing laxatives -- to prevent weight gain.

Binge eating is a serious eating disorder in which you develop a habit of frequent eating that is consuming foods in large quantities. Every one of us overeat occasionally but when it crosses its limit to binge eating then it becomes a daily routine and a person usually do it secretly without letting anybody know about it. According to a new study women who are involved in binge eating don’t get easily married whereas men also face difficulty in finding a partner keeping a job.

The study further states that both men and women experience long-lasting effects like depression similar to those living with bulimia. While struggling with binge-eating people are unable to work and participate in regular activities.

The health experts say that people should be aware of the effects of binge-eating and it should be the first step so as to diagnose and treat it. One important fact about binge eating is that people become more obese as compared to those with bulimia. They don’t go for a treatment they just continue to gobble. So binge eating is not considered as having an illness they just been considered to be fat.

But recently in a study on binge eating the researchers have found that it is more common as bulimia and it also leads to several health problems such as impulse control problem.

Generally kids are more prone to eating habits and get into depression in their middle age and also get affected by anxiety disorders.

Scientists suggest that moving further in life such as going at the universities or colleges or practicing some form of outreach may help in reducing the adverse effects of binge eating later in life.

Kids are the leaders of tomorrow and faith of the country depends upon them. But this eating habit is creating a problem that prevents them to perform well. It is a serious matter and it should be resolved. Young people who are struggling with eating disorders should be carefully monitored to check if their interventions are proving successful or not.

It is important that parents should be aware about their child’s eating habits. They should observe their child and encourage eating in moderate portions. It is usually done secretly but after you discover binge eating in your kid you should be highly supportive even when you feel angry.

Your child is struggling with this guilt that his binge eating is being exposed. Much of the disability comes from secondary complications like substance abuse, anxiety and depression. The study didn’t focus much on the role of obesity in the disability for those with binge-eating disorder don’t purge their food as people suffering from bulimia.
